Planning & Zoning
The Summerset Planning and Zoning Board plays a vital role within our city government. This five-member board is appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Commission. They are tasked with writing zoning, subdivision, and other ordinances as they pertain to planned growth and development in the City of Summerset and within its extra-territorial boundary. They also hear applications pertaining to planned development, making recommendations to the board of commissioners and the Mayor.

If you have an interest in becoming a member of the Planning and Zoning Board, please contact Lisa Schieffer, the City Administrator. We are looking for alternate members to fill in should we have absences on the board for vacation, etc.
Meetings:
The Planning and Zoning Board meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the City Office at 6:00 p.m.
Please have all submissions into The Planning Office at least 14 working days in advance of the meeting dates.
*Meetings are held on these dates only as needed.

The Finance Office/City Administrator accepts all applications for Planning and Zoning requests and schedules all meetings.
